Grab your brown bag lunch and join fellow coaches for our second
book study in our series! Participants mut purchase the book prior to the book study and will be emailed reflective questions. This event will be facilitated by Howard Keim, ACC and Lisa Nickel, ACC.
We can all get singularly focused on WHAT we do instead of WHO we are. When we do that, we miss out on some of the best pieces of ourselves. In The Portfolio Life, author Christina Wallace challenges you to think about ALL of your skills, interests, relationships, community, personal growth and impact and to live your life like a Venn diagram with multiple overlaps and intersections. Just like a financial portfolio is diversified and calculated to look at risks and rewards in a volatile and disruptive time, so too is the Portfolio Life.
The book is full of tips and exercises to identify your own Venn diagram, help design a business model for your life, craft a portfolio, evaluate your personal balance sheet, name your personal board of directors, and tell your story.

Seth Bate (he/him), PCC, will be the first 3-time Coaching Over Coffee volunteer. Seth coordinates all coaching for the Wichita State University Community Engagement Institute (CEI) and serves as both an internal and external coach. As part of his CEI portfolio, Seth also serves on the Kansas Leadership Center teaching and coaching team. As a coach, Seth is empathetic and direct. Clients say he is so easy to talk to that sometimes they don’t even know they are being coached – until a provocative question from Seth opens up a whole new perspective. Coaching conversations with Seth are often filled with laughter punctuated by a full, present, rich silence.
Away from the leadership and coaching world, Seth is a student and lover of local history and has published articles about infamous Kansans Carry A. Nation and Gerald Winrod. His recent book on Winfield’s Walnut Valley Festival is available from Arcadia Publishing/The History Press.
